History:
Overmountain Brewers was started by Josh Gibson who desired a local homebrew club as the closest club was an hour away at best. Josh wanted to gather those who were interested in brewing together in a social format in order to promote and share brewing knowledge and experience. The first meeting was held on Sept. 30, 2011. It was attended by several people in the area who were of a like mind. These people wanted to see the club formed and were willing to provide all the help they could in order to see it grow. In January of 2012 Overmountain Brewers became incorporated, collected the first annual dues and had officers elected along with voting in the official bylaws.
